Message from the Dean
Welcome to the HCH. You will find, as you browse through the many pages of information on this site, as well as our related site, www.romantichealthcare.com, that we offer something different for those seeking to learn and to follow a vocation in the health-care field.
What you will find is both the most comprehensive training program in the complete system of medicine pioneered by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, called Heilkunst (of which homeopathy is but a part) as well as an even-broader and in-depth training in Romantic healthcare, of which Heilkunst forms a part. What we offer is a framework for the understanding of health, illness and treatment according to natural law and principle that integrates individual therapies into a coherent, easily applied and highly effective system. Heilkunst is the true system of Western medicine, and Romantic Healthcare the true system of Western healthcare, grounded in principle and natural law, scientifically-based, patient-oriented and wholistically-minded.
We have been training students for almost twenty years, based on over 200 years of science and clinical experience, and supported by a distinguished list of medical and scientific pioneers. While there is much new that you will learn, there is also much old that you will learn to look at from a dynamic, new perspective. As Proust stated, it is not so much the finding of new lands as seeing existing lands through new eyes that constitutes true discovery.
The HCH is dedicated to the idea that each and every one of us already contains all the wisdom of the universe within, but that we need quidance to help bring this inner knowing to conscious knowing so that it can be applied to the benefit of our own evolution and for humanity more generally. We are proud of this “knowledge-based” approach to learning, which values understanding over memorization, knowledge over information. While information can become dated or even obsolete, the capacity to access one’s inner wisdom through one’s reason, the basis for all true science, will be yours for your lifetime.
